The role of nutrition is very important in oncological diseases. For example, a patient who has been diagnosed with breast cancer should give up her previous eating habits and have to make a fresh start. The first and most important rule is to say a goodbye to alcohol habits if you are currently using. The second most important rule is to avoid from the saturated fat, the tail fat and the greens made from the fat.

When we mention the effect of fat consumption on breast cancer we talk about butter, margarine, meat, fish, snack foods’ fats. It should also be remembered that the fat content is rich in biscuits, cakes, chocolates and other similar products. Scientists have proven that; breast cancer incidence increases in women who consume more fat after menopause than those who consume less.

In EPIC named European study, the breast cancer incidence is doubled in those who fed with saturated fat-rich foods. These foods include processed meat products such as sausages, salami, cream, various chocolates, pastries, and biscuits. As well as, many studies conducted about the sugar and breast cancer relationship. But no strong evidence has been found for a relationship between sugar-carbohydrate consumption and breast cancer.

In a study of Chinese women in the United States, a rich diet of carbohydrates has been shown a slight increase in breast cancer risk in women under the age of 50.  In conclusion, a diet rich in sugar can be said to cause weight gain, which is similar to the risk of obesity in menopausal women.

Foods to eat for a healthy living!

In world-wide research, green tea has been proven as a protective effect on breast cancer. In a survey on Asian women, it was found that breast cancer was less visible, the reason was that Asian ladies consume lots of legumes such as beans, soybean, and chickpeas. Also, fibers have a very important role in nutrition.

They are most concentrated in fruits and vegetables. It has been shown that consumption of fibers above 25 grams per day reduces breast cancer incidence in women before menopause. It has been suggested that wheat bran fibers may lower blood estrogen levels in women who are not in a menopausal period and may decrease breast cancer risk accordingly.

Other studies have been conducted in Russia; in these studies, it has been found that Russians consumes cabbage soup almost every day. As a result of scientific research on cabbage, active protective substances against breast cancer have been shown. We have to take advantage of this nutrition by consuming the cabbage in different ways besides the soup.

One of the other nutrients that protect against breast cancer is pomegranate fruit which grows abundantly in our country. Pomegranate which is a strong c vitamin store that strengthens the immune system at the same time. Pomegranate has cholesterol and sugar balancing feature as well.
